A time to kill

Letter to the editor;

The TV movie “High Noon” (not to be confused with the classic western of the same name) depicted a crazy man with a twisted personal agenda, holding hostages in a bank.

Eventually the SWAT snipers killed him, but only after the negotiator tried for a long time to coax him out.

To give the viewers reason to believe this murderous lunatic could be persuaded to surrender, the movie first covered some other hostage situations with varied results.

In the end, the police had to decide to take it upon themselves to kill this man before he would kill several innocent people he was holding at gunpoint.

This goes both ways: Evil government people (and there certainly are evil government people) can murder an individual of their choice and have the public applaud the killing as protecting public safety.

On the other hand, when the defenders of law and order have righteously killed a violent criminal, publishers and broadcasters can spin the story out until the public believes the bad guy was an innocent victim of corrupt and murderous police.

Good and evil government

The basis of evil government

Letter to the editor;

In the beginning, Hashem created the heavens and the earth.
(For us who are not Jews; Hashem, or ha Shem, means The Name – of G-d.)

And Hashem created man in his own image.

And He gave them just that one Commandment about the forbidden fruit.

And the Yetzer Hara came among them and said, “Do it my way. You shall be like G-d, knowing good from evil.” (For the benefit of us Gentiles, the Yetzer Hara is your evil inclination.)

Adam already knew good from evil, as he already had that one Commandment.

But the Yetzer Hara had to pretend to have something to offer. Maybe he pretended to mean, “Do it my way and you can decide good and evil for yourselves.”

And then came to pass six thousand years of evil government by men and women who decided for themselves what was good and what was evil – and shoved it down the throats of everyone else by force and violence and mass-murder, backed by goon-squads.

Josef Stalin was an example of this. He murdered tens of millions of Russians, trying to establish government his way; the way of the Yetzer Hara. Other examples are Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot and Genghis Khan.

And the modern “Liberal,” has decided to do things his own way (the Yetzer Hara way). He believes that knowing good and evil means that he gets to decide for himself what is good and what is evil for the entire human race – and force it on us.

Throwing families out to give their houses to MICE

Greens move mice in; people out

Letter to the editor;

The PLF SENTRY reports that some outfit is taking families’ houses away by eminent domain and making them into shelters for some endangered sort of mouse.

But what do we know about the value of an endangered mouse?! Who are we to debate the wisdom of setting up some particular rodent in housekeeping?!

Now, this is very scientific, so everyone please pay attention: Since they want to increase the population of that sort of mouse, then put a bounty on them: Not dead, but alive and scurrying around.

Encourage homeowners to build bird-house-sized mouse-houses down under their porches. You know – with woven-wire fences around their little door-yards to protect them from cats. That way nobody has to move out to let the mice move in.

They could put special mouse-dinners out to attract more such tenants, and to prosper the ones already at hand.

Then, once a month, each homeowner would mail off a mice-in-residence report.

The environmentalists would be required to send checks to their mouse-keepers – say a dollar per month per mouse. This would keep it worth-while for people who keep the mouse-motels clean and safe.

The environmentalists could take an on-site, face-to-face mouse-census every so often to verify how many mice they actually have, so nobody would be tempted to collect a bounty on animals that are not even there.

Let's see, if every other female mouse has a litter of six every two months, then by this time next year they ought to be about ankle-deep in mice.

The men with the mice might be getting checks of several hundred dollars a month from the Greens. Green checks, that is; not government checks. This would give the Greens a personal motivation to decide when enough subsidized mice are enough. (If it were government money, they might never come to that conclusion.)

Stuff not to do

Letter to the editor;

“No government money, whether borrowed or taxed, should ever be used to bail out private financial interests.” (The Downsizer organization)

Yeah. No bailouts.. . . and while we’re at it . . .

No bills the Congresscritters haven’t read.

No bills ghost-written for Congress by outsiders.

No bills that treat of more than one subject.

No bills that are not specifically authorized by the Constitution.No undeclared, no-win wars.No legally-sanctioned abortions or euthanasia. No emergency concentration camps.No locking up anyone without resort to real courts.No land-grabs.No infringement upon the right of the people to keep and bear arms.No throwing money away.No special projects for particular districts.

No treaties that give away the nation or its assets. And, in case we forgot anything, don't do that either.

How to make Congress want to save our money

Pay them lots more

Letter to the editor;

A reader proposes we pay our Beloved Leaders only what they are worth. It would save a fortune, he said, because most of them are worth very little.

However, I propose to pay them all much more -- and save a thousand times as much.

You ask, “How could you possibly save money by throwing it at politicians?”

Here’s how: Pay the President, the Vice President, the Cabinet members, the Justices of the Supreme Court and all the Congresscritters a million dollars a year each. They would have to pay their own staff, office rent, retirement, limousines, stationary and stamps out of this million.

(Probably they would each run an office the size of a motel room, with a staff of one. See, they would want to take home as much of that lovely money as possible rather than waste it on riotous DC living.)

AND – they would be paid at the end of each fiscal year – out of whatever is left in the Treasury.

See, if they spend us into a deficit, there would be nothing left in the Treasury to pay them. They wouldn't get that million. They wouldn't get anything at all. This would be a very powerful personal motivation in the direction of fiscal sanity.

They would be, as it were, spending their own money.

They would all catch on to this in about three seconds.

We might never see another deficit or another war.

That's how.

Explosives for terror

Letter to the editor;

“ATF Issues Alert Notice Regarding Thefts of Explosives along Mexican Border”

May I remind the world that genuine terrorists are not dependent on theft to procure explosives. Terrorists' sponsoring governments are all well able to provide explosives in hundred-ton lots. Terrorist dictatorships can ship it world-wide by commercial carrier.

The "romantic" Hollywood version depicts commandos stealing dynamite and carrying it on foot in knapsacks over the rugged mountains, thru blizzards, and across the burning deserts among rattlesnakes, to blow up a bridge, a microwave relay-tower or a power-line.

If real terrorists (say, Saudi Arabians) were to phone home for a train-load (of, say, TNT) their government sponsors could have it delivered in sealed railroad containers (in, say, downtown Phoenix) -- and if that is not close enough, they could use their disposable credit cards to rent trucks to haul it to the site of their planned atrocity.

It can't hurt to be on the lookout for some drug-addicted drifter trying to "lift" fifty pounds of dynamite from a construction site. But that must not take our mind away from the plain fact that real terrorists have governments backing them.

Is this a person?

Letter to the editor;

[photo of a baby -- photoshopped to appear unborn]

This is not a person. It is all right to, um, ah, “terminate” it as long as it is still in its mother’s womb. The greatest living legal minds have conferred and agreed on this.

(Actually, this baby has already been born. The photo is a hoax designed to make you believe it is an “intrauterine” picture. But you don’t get a blue background there.)

The politicians have come out four-square for the right to, um, “choose” to abort. We should certainly give some respect to the conclusions of our Beloved Leaders.

You who look at this picture are insane out of your mind, because as soon as you saw it, you said, “A baby!” -- not “A parasite!” You wanted to love and care for this child -- not to dump its bloody, broken body into the incinerator around back of some abortuary.
